Shasta Cove Stables is a professional horseback guiding company, with over 75 years of combined horsemanship, climbing, mountaineering, hiking, camping and backpacking experience.
Our objective is to guide our clients on exciting, safe, and educational experiences through the beautiful Shasta-Trinity National Forest. We want to share with our clients the wonders of this beautiful country and our love for horses.
Shasta Cove Stables is proud to offer a variety of horse related activities. We offer both pre-scheduled trips for your convience, or call us to customize your own horseback adventure.

Day rides:
Our day rides throughout the Shasta-Trinity National Forest offer the unique opportunity to our guests to view nature atop one of our gentle horses. Both half day and full day trips are available. Day rides are the most popular of our packages and include:

Hourly Rides
We are also proud to offer one and two hour trail rides: this shorter version of our day ride includes:

Overnight Rides/Campouts:
These rides and overnight exursions are designed for the most adventurous of our guests. On these trips we will take day rides from our base camp and return in the evening for dinner and fireside activities. This is a participation trip. We urge our clients to learn by doing, such as pitching your own tent, lending a hand with cooking, saddling your own horse, and various other tasks associated with a wilderness experience. Guides will always be with you to lend a helpful hand, give tips, offer advice and lead the party. These overnight trips include:

- Group camping equipment

Summer Camps
Shasta Cove Stables is very proud to offer our most exciting summer of horsemanship programs for children yet. This is our eighth consecutive year bringing the joy of horses to the children in Siskiyou County. Due to overwhelming response, we are offering six weeks of horsemanship camps this year.
Week One: June 21st-June 25th Novice Horse Camp (ages 8 and over)...$305.00

Week Three: July 12th-July 16th Open Horse Camp (ages 8 and over)...$305.00

Week Five: Aug 9th-Aug 13th First Aid/CPR Horse Camp (ages 10 and over)...$395.00

Our courteous guides have over 75 years of combined horsemanship experience. They are professionally trained in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. Your safety is our first concern, and our staff is here to serve you and help to insure that you have a safe, and positive experience. We do have a weight limit of 270 pounds for your safety and the comfort of our horses.
