Mud Creek Canyon, on the southeast slopes of Mount Shasta, is the oldest and most spectacular of Shasta's canyons. In some places is more than 1,000 feet deep, te canyon extends below timberline and stretches up to the Konwakiton Glacier at an elevation of more than 12,000 feet. Periodic mudflows from this dramatic canyon have swept into the forested lands at the foot of the mountain. |
