Regional Attractions

When planning your stay at Fe's Bed and Breakfast don't forget about the wonderful attractions in the Dorris/Tulelake area.

The Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is home to 430 species of birds and animals. Fall is a dynamic time at the Refuge as 75 percent of the birds migrating along the Pacific Flyway stop at the refuge. By late December, the remaining waterfowl attract thousands of raptors, including the largest concentration of wintering bald eagles in the lower 48 state.

Glass Mountain and Medicine Lake offer examples of the region's volitial history. Glass Mountain was formed from cacite and thyolitic obsidian flows and is now a landscape of sharp, black obsidian to be viewed, but not walked upon. Medicine Lake fills part of the largest volcano in total area in the state. The Medicine Lake Highlands are gently sloping, and stretch nearly 15 miles from east to west and 25 miles north to south.
